Gemini & the Scorpio Boss

Networking

Hey, Gemini! Have you or your twin ever wondered why Scorpio hired you? Of course you have. Within just a few minutes, he recognized that your gift of gab could be a valuable asset to his company.

He liked your vibrant energy, wit and the way you think quickly on your feet. While this employee/boss com-bination may not be the most compatible or harmonious, its certainly never boring. You keep Scorpio amused and bewildered, and he prompts you to dig beneath the surface. How's this work on a daily basis?

Using Your Strengths

You're a consummate communicator with a large network of friends and acquaintances. You're also an information junkie, and when you don't know the answer to something, you usually know where to go or who to ask for the answer. You are bored to death in a desk job, and if Scorpio is smart, she'll put you out in front of the pubic to do what you do best.
If you're one of those Geminis who have twice the energy of the people around you, then you're able to accomplish quite a bit in a given day as long as you aren't distracted. Scorpio probably realizes this about you and utilizes it to the company's advantage.

Stand Up for What You Believe

Even when you're irked or dissatisfied by a policy or task that Scorpio has implemented, some part of you understands why your boss made the decision he did. Blame it on the du-
ality inherent in your sign. What angers one twin is shrugged off by the other twin, unless the issue involves something about which you're passionate. Then the fury of both twins comes into play.
A Gemini friend of mine worked for a year in a large city library. Her boss was a female Scor-pio. Every afternoon, the boss would call her employees into her office and read something out of the Bible to them. My Gemini friend found the practice offensive and told her boss that she didn't feel religious preaching be-longed in a professional setting. This was a city library, not a church or religious organization. Scorpio shrugged off her objections and said that attendance was mandatory.
To get around it, this Gemini started making herself scarce around three every afternoon. She found stuff to do in other departments. When her boss called her on it, she bluntly told her she refused to attend these little afternoon sessions. She desperately wanted to quit, but couldn't afford to, even though all the signs indicated she should. Not long afterward, she was fired. It was, she said later, the best thing that ever happened to her.
When you stand up for what you believe, understand that there may be consequences!

Set Goals

If you begin each week with a list of goals, it will keep you focused, provide you with a definite direction and ultimately will save you time. Make the goals specific. Instead of saying that you're going to pick up new clients this week, choose a realistic number—five or ten —and then spell out how you're going to find these new clients.
Perhaps you attend workshops or conventions related to your profession or you pick up new
clients through referrals from your network of friends and acquaintances. If your company is active on social media, maybe you do it that way. Select several venues for the week. Be detailed, but not so detailed that you box your-self in.
